Ultra Marine update 29th June 2017
This project is at the end of its first week. After taking a few days off after working on the Space Wolf tanks and making a quick stab at painting up my own Space Wolves I have moved on to this project. All the Marines are built and primed; I will use the same recipe for these as I did for these as I did on the Tartaros Terminators. I’m looking forward to getting these base coated in the next few days as I know I am a better painter that when I last painted an infantry squad and want to show this off to the client
As you will see below the Sicaran is built base coated and ready for highlighting. The client set me a challenge on this one to not only magnetise the sponson weapons but make them interchangeable. After a bit of fiddling on one side the second went together very well and with a cleverly positioned magnet and some superglue you will be surprised what you can do.

I am now on the closing stages of this project all twenty of the marines are now painted and have the decals on. The Sicaran is in a similar position and all now need and extra gloss coat over the top to seal the decals on before the pin wash. After this the next few steps are nice and easy and actually a lot of fun. The Sicaran will get weathered and made suitably grimy as per the requirement of the commission. The marines themselves will get a bit of extra grim and chips here and there. After that it's just the bases and a finishing coat to protect the paint work.

This one is now finished and the order is winging its way the owner. Im really happy with how these have turned out and im now even considering building my own Ultra Marine Army.
